Lost Lake

In the Cascades, north of Clear Lake, near Santium Junction and HooDoo.
Looks like a forest road with a few campsites and a lake that drains into a lava area.

Anyone been there? Is it worth a day trip, picnic at the lake, scenic drive??

Lake Drain

Went yesterday, water was very low, could not find the drain area. Nice simple campgrounds.

West of the Santium Junction on 20 is the volcano crater in my prior post, it's difficult to find, I used GPS coordinates. East of the junction on 20 is the Hoodoo Ski area. South on 126 is Clear Lake and Sahalie Falls plus a few other falls and the Blue Pools area. North of the junction near Marion Forks on 22 is a fish hatchery.

You probably already knew about these, but I had to post anyway. We have enjoyed these areas.

That was 2 weeks ago. Fires everywhere now with smoky skies and poor visibility. Hope it clears by then.

Ya I was afraid of that. I have switched my trip to something closer to the coast for fresher air at this time. I will have to visit the Lost Lake area when the fires and smoke calm down. Thanks for the heads up! You verified my suspicion!

Probably too much smoke for your trip. There is a state highway site with web cams. Use this link to check the cameras in the area around the Santium Junction to see what it looks like for air quality. I use it to watch when there is snow in the passes.

Was there just last weekend:

Didn't know that the water was so low (hence the kayaks on the roof), also didn't know this was where the hole was.

We ended up driving north about 20 minutes to Timothy Lake - Was a nice clear day
