They both stopped working. I have looked at all the fuses, and none of them seem to be tied to these function, and nothing else has stopped working (rear window still goes down and up).

I looked at fuse number 38, but it is good.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

Seriously. Do this exactly. Roll down the rear window using the dash switch. Then roll the window back up AND HOLD THE SWITCH IN THE UP POSITION FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS. If this doesn't fix it then start looking elsewhere.

DrMorbius,

You are a genius!!!! It worked like a charm, I don't know why, but I guess that is of little concern.

Thanks!

bump -this happens to 3rd gens also

this is quite common to the 3rd gens also. The giveaway is all the rear window functions are mysteriously gone.

You look at your rear window-you assume it is all the way up, but it is not.

So you put it up- either from inside switch or outside keyhole, and magically all functions are restored.

These trucks are outsmarting us at times....

i had similar issue with mine. rear defrost wouldn't work. opened manual and it said it won't work if window was down. sure enough, when unlocking car from hatch to let dogs in/out the window went down slightly. It wasn't open at all, but down enough to kill the defrost. gotta love the diy's that cost you nothing.

Thanks a lot for this. I was worry about my rear wiper not working and just found this thread and I make it work as it should. Damn wiper had me angry and after this act of magic am happy again.

You have to love this site.I was playing in the mud last night and today the window defrost wouldn't work.Checked all of the fuses ,gave up,came on here and found out my rear window was down less than a 1/4 ".
