Yeah I’m thinking a pulley. Dealing with the belt is a PITA… Ugh.

Tip- Take off the engine skid and loosen the tensioner from under the car- you'll have more leverage (access for a longer bar) and way more room.
Oh yeah just drop the front skid plate. Piece of cake if you live in Arizona I guess.
Just buy a serpentine belt tool:
$30 on amazon. It's worth it. Good for other random tasks as well.

I agree there is not a lot of clearance but belt can be removed from the top. I replaced my alternator a couple of months ago which called for belt and idler pulley to be removed.
Curious why'd you remove an idler pulley?
I had my alternator off last week and I didn't need to do that.
More room. I also removed the battery and undid some of the harness brackets so the alternator would clear more easily. While I had the pulley out, I cleaned the caked on dirt and grease and checked the bearings.

Well, back from a wedding and dove into fixing the problem.
Here’s where the loud racket was coming from.
Pulleys do seem like they need to just be replaced so I will do that. The idler pulleys and tensioner pulleys all seem to be spinning more freely than they should and a few make a little noise when spinning.
I replaced the alternator and put on a fresh belt around maybe 200 miles ago and this happened after I did that work. I have had some pre mature belt wear in the past, but nothing like this. This happened after the alternator replacement. Question here is how would this catastrophic wear happen so quickly? Is the alternator not seated correctly? Incorrect belt routing? Just a bad belt from the store? I want to make sure I find the culprit so this doesn’t happen again.
