hey all! I'm new to the forum, as well as new to 4runners. I just picked mine up today. I have a question concerning the exhaust. If you leave the truck in neutral and rev the engine it's pretty quiet, however, if you're driving around and give it some gas it sounds like a tractor with a straight pipe.
It's a '93 v6 automatic. Any ideas? I assume it's something for kick down? Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks!

Mine does the same thing
it does it because there are several holes in my exhaust system. Especially my muffler,
take it to a muffler shop they'll fix it.

I really don't think that's it. If it's not in gear you can rev it freely and there is no leaking. Once you put it in gear it leaks right up front somewhere. I really don't think it has anything to do with the muffler or cat itself. Thanks for the response though!!

check the gasket between the head pipe and the manifold. or maybe just tighten the 3 bolts that hold the head pipe to the manifold.
