Lovely new sound while driving...

Hey guys, I'll describe this as best as I can, I'm getting a whirling metal on metal sound when I let off the accelerator, any ideas?

Only when you let off? Any vibrations?

First thing I'd do is put the rear on jackstands with a friend on the throttle and see if you can duplicate it in your driveway.

Good call, I guess I'll have to. No vibrations at all. Replaced all Ujoints recently, and Yep only when there is 0 throttle as soon as I give it a tad bit of gas, it goes away.

check the rear pinion nut and see if its loose. if it is, the pinion is falling into the diff and contacting the carrier when you let off. hope you find the source

sounds like a pinon bearing. but should make sure the pinon nut didnt back out and is loose

another nut to check is the flange nut off the t case. mine was loose and was making noise when off the accelerator at certain speeds
