Low Fuel Light Help

Folks



My 98 T4R is having some fuel sending unit issues.



The vehicle has 290k



Fuel tank is 1/2 full. Fuel gauge shows tank is 1/2 fuel.



And yet, the low fuel light on the dash is coming on. It is not sold it tends to be blink (turning on and off intermittently). Mornings when it is cold outside tend to make it worse but I've seen it at all times of the day and in all temperatures.



What do you think the problem is?



How would you go about diagnosing the problem?



I'd be happy just to disconnect the light altogether since I never let the fuel get below 1/4 tank.

Bump . . . so this doesn't get lost in the masses.

Nobody has had this problem?

I might run some fuel de-icer to see if that helps. Perhaps there is some water in the tank.

I haven't has this problem... Wish I could help. This doesn't seem like a huge issue as long as you refill the take at 1/4 of a tank?

Are your fill ups what you expect? IE fill up of 12ish gals around 1/4 of a tank on the gauge?

Ya, fill ups and usage seem normal. a side note, I'm loving fuel being around 2.30/gallon.

The only really issue is the flickering light is annoying. Its like its saying "Ha, somethings wrong with your damn vehicle!"
