Long story:
About 2 weeks ago my 2005 4R lmtd 4WD began leaking engine oil which presented at the inspection port where the oil pan/block meets the bellhousing. After much searching I found one instance of a leaky oil pan, and no failed rear main seals, so I went after an oil pan leak. Two attempts at a reseal later, it still leaked copiously, so I decided it must be the rear main. So, I pull the exhaust, driveshafts, transfer case and transmission. Replace the rear main and it's housing plate, install tranny, exhaust etc, and now it doesn't leak. Yay.
Now, the transmission is making a faint ticking, which may or may not be new. The engine, when cold, starts and idles at around 650 rpm. As it warms the idle falls to approximately 400-450 rpm. It manages not to die when placed in gear or when I turn the AC on. I have no check engine light or other indication of a problem.
Ideas?
