Low Mileage/Rebuilt Engine?

I need one...head gasket blew for no apparent reason. I'm thinking internal problems. Mine's got 175k miles on it anyway so I'm looking for a used/rebuilt one. Anybody know where I might find one at a reasonable price?

If it's a 3.0 V6, there is a reason, and there was a recall for that problem.

4 cylinder (22R's) are also known for blown HG's.

When was the 3.0 V6 recalled and how could I tell if mine ever got the fix? It has almost 300,000 miles so I'm guessing it did, but I'm just curious, I hadn't heard that the V6 engine was recalled.

Just take the VIN to your local dealer. They 'should' be able to tell you if the HG has been done under the recall notice. I found out that my 92 model was done with about 30,000 miles on the clock.

Just for the info I took mine in at 197K and they did the recall on the head gaskets and fixed whatever else was damaged due to the head gasket problem. Now they did a sh@##! job and sent it back still leaking. I took it back and they got the leak fixed -- how you ask - the idiots filled it with stop leak. It ran great for 15k miles and i just had to rebuild the top end again on me. When we went into the motor it was full of stop leak and of course they said they would have never done that -- so be careful when you take it in.
