Low speed lurch, rotational imbalance

I'm having a low speed lurching feeling coming from the wheels or drivetrain somewhere. It happens most around 10 mph when my keys start to sway and bounce on the dash. Not that dramatic but that's how I noticed it. Above 20 it goes away. I can't so much feel it in the steering wheel, more so in my but with the whole truck under me.

I'm wondering if this could be a frozen caliper?

Tires are pretty new and in great shape and I don't really do much driving so I'm not sure where this is coming from. Certainly not an incident that I can think or.

I'd like to have some knowledge to troubleshoot this or something to take it to the shop and direct them to.

I think low speed issues like that are usually tire-related from my past research. Often times it's a sign of belt separation inside the tire or that the tire itself is out of round.

I wouldn't assume that because the tires are new that they couldn't be the problem. Rotate them front to back and see if it changes anything at all. If nothing changes at least you'll be able to rule that out.

I am due for a rotation and that will be the first possibility to check off the list. I would be surprised if that fixed it as this developed almost overnight. And I really won't be happy if there is a bubble or separation in one of these tires.

I'm definitely not an expert but I've had that problem on a few different vehicles so I've done a lot of research over the years and that keeps coming up as a probable cause.

Either way, let us know what you find out. I'm curious.

Interesting...having the same symptoms on my end and have been lurking trying to figure out a probable cause. I too also considered it being related to a brake issue, just have not had the time to diagnose. Tires are also new. Let us know if or when you find something!

Jack up each wheel, one at a time, and rotate tire. I wouldn't be surprised if you find one or more that are out of round, or that have a belt separation.

ran some errands today with a little highway driving and had some pretty bad shaking and steering wheel vibration. checked out all four wheels and the front right has a bunch of brake dust on the rim. my professional diagnosis is a seized brake caliper or other issue with the rotor and caliper. its going to the shop on friday. ill report back then.
