Low Tire Pressure Warning Light

Hi All.
I have been noticing my low tire pressure warning light on for the past 3 days now. I have tried inflating the tire pressure to the dealer recommended pressure of 32psi...light still on.
I took the pressure up as high as 40 psi...light still on.
Any ideas how to turn this annoying light off?

I remember reading in my manual that the TPS monitors the spare tire pressure as well - which makes sense - no point breaking down in the dirt to find your spare tire with barely any air in it.

Maybe thats it? Hope that helps

thanks Sean...I'll check the pressure in the spare.
BTW, is there a way to check the spare pressure without taking it down?

Sean...you da MAN!!!
It was the spare tire...pressure was low.
I pumped it up to 35 psi and the warning light went away...just like magic!
Thanks so much for your help.

How does it detect the spare tire pressure? Initially, I thought your reply was a spare tire joke.

The spare has the same sensor the other 4 have. You would want to put the max air pressure (40+) in the spare and carry a pressure gauge in the truck, so you can lower it when needed. By keeping the max pressure in the spare you will not have to add air so frequently.

Dang, I've been having the same exact problem the past 2 weeks. I was getting ready to go to the dealer and see if the sensor was bad. I guess I should check the spare when I get home.

unfortunately you have to drop the spare to check the air and fill it up. Koz has the right idea... Fill it up to 40 and forget about it for a while...

My light has been coming on in the morning and going away in the afternoon. Just a sign that winter will soon be here :o
