Who makes springs to lower by 1 1/2" A progressive spring would be brilliant. Softer than stock for the first 3" of travel then stiffening to slightly harder than stock would be my ideal.

I believe the stock springs on an 02 sr5 were the lowest clearance springs on all the models, the 99 being the tallest. I have a full set of stock 02's if youre interested.

Reason for lowering is first, I'm not a mud larking chap.
Second, I want to reduce the moment that height induces, just don't want to wobble about so much.
I like 4runners well enough for the off roading I do do, living out in the country.
Am about to switch the traction control to over ride this annoying feature that has almost dumped me a couple of time where my Volvo V70R never hesitated.

SR5 was just a spec, like the Limited.

If your 4runner is wobbling you might want to look into what suspension issues you have. Maybe try replacing the bushings and other suspension components before doing some strange thing like lowering a 4R.

If you lower 1.5" you won't have 3" of travel left, especially if you are starting from stock (possibly sagged) '02 height.

To get an idea, in the front, full compression (weight of truck on bump stops, no springs/shocks) is 16.75" from the center of the hub to the fender lip. The rear is similar, though I don't have the exact measurements. Your stock ride height is in the 19" to 20" range.

If you want to lower and still have travel available, you will need to do more than just get some springs. Bump stop modifications at a minimum will be required, and you may need suspension geometry adjustments too (custom arms in the front).

If you want less tippy handling, get Addco swaybars front and rear and some good shocks (OEM, Bilstein, KYB). Otherwise, understand you are driving a truck with a solid rear axle and a suspension setup to handle off road (even the 2WD's use the 4WD suspension geometry) - I'll take a TON of work to handle anything like a modern car on the road.
