I have a 1988 V6/5 speed 4x4
The top has been off all summer.
She is the best rig ever.
Here's my issue...
My spare tire kit has gone missing. I have checked everywhere. Under the back seats, both rear compartments,garage,basement, beer cooler...seriously it is gone...gone.
Of course...now that I need it has disappeared into the missing parts black hole.
Does anybody know an alternative for the tool itself?
I can't recall what shape the key itself was. Is it flat, a rectangle, a cross of some sort, was it a hook? You guys know what I'm talking about...this site is full of 4Runner gods.
I read on another sites about using other contraptions to get the tire down...but none listed for 4Runner.
There is not somewhere under the rig to locally crank it down right?
I am in South Jersey...if there is a local 4Runner brother willing to meet me somewhere, loan me the stick,crank my tire down...I'm buying beers.
If you have any ideas...I'm not desperate yet...but...the wall of my tire has a nice big crack in it....and i'd hate to get trapped with a good tire ready to go...but not able to lower it.
