Ls1 engine swap?

Hi everyone. Ive tried searching but have come up short.

Has anyone attempted to swap in an Ls1 or other aluminum V8 in a 4 runner?

Ill be attempting this soon in my 2nd gen.

Most likely ill be using a Manual tranny mated to the Ls1 and fabricate an adaptor to mate the transfer case.

Someone on here put a V8 in a second gen. I can't remember who but they definitely bashed in the firewall to fit it :bigok:

Hmm, well I think If An Inline 6 supra motor can fit, a v8 will. I might have to get creative with the radiator and fan, but thats the fun part.

you shouldnt have any problem gettin a v8 in that thing. if they could get a v8 in the mid 80's models no reason you cant do it, you will need to use an electric fan and mount it on the front of the radiator that will help you with clearence just gonna need to make sure you get a push style not pull.

Check Advanced Adapters they make adapters for all kinds of engine,tranny, transfer case combinations. You can pick up just about any 4x4 mag and find an ad for them.

I have been reading 4wheel and offroad for years and 4x4. I have seen dozens of Toyotas with 350s in them under readers rigs. It should be an interesting project.
