Lubricating turn signal switch

I've noticed recently that my turn signal lever doesn't operate all that smoothly. It isn't a hard-stuck situation like the Sticky Gearshift issue. More of a scrunchy feeling as if it's hitting a dry patch somewhere in the range of motion.

Has anyone else had to do this before? I haven't looked anything up yet, but I'd imagine the procedure is remove airbag, remove steering wheel, remove switch, and carefully daub some white lithium grease on the moving parts once I'm in there?

Perhaps a dry silicone spray? Don't forget to top off your blinker fluid. A low fluid condition can also cause a sticky lever.

I had blinker fluid topped off at the dealer, I think he over charged me?:hatsoff:

blinker fluid worked wonders on mine. i had a severe case of tweaker blinker, topped off my blinker fluid (who the fuxk knew this stuff even existed?!), boom bam, back to normal. never tried it on the turn signal stem, that might work though.

These are all excellent suggestions!

In the event that my blinker fluid IS topped off, I should probably check some other methods. Do you think I can spray some lube into where the stalk comes out of the steering column using a straw attachment, or should I do the disassembly method?

My fear is messing up the clockspring mechanism -- I've heard they can be temperamental.
