Lug Nut size?

I just purchased a set of original, aluminum factory wheels from ebay for my 1990 SR5 ( like these..

I was wondering what type and size lug nuts do I need to find?
Currently I have the steel wheels on it, so I don't think I can use those lug nuts. I also wonder if I can use my center caps from the steel wheels or a good place to find some that will work?

I did the same as you. Purchased a set of reconditioned wheels from AAA Wheels. VERY nice. But they didn't come with centers or lugs.

Well, the bad news is: your center caps from your steel 7-spoke wheels wont work. Additionally, you need the lug nuts from Toyota that have a flat washer behind them, and you are right,, the lugs off your steelies wont work.

I'd advise staying away from lug nuts purchased from auto parts stores. I never did find any that were 'right'.

You can probably find the centers on the net somewhere, but I bought them direct from Toyota . UMM<,,,,VERY expensive. Also got the lugs from Toyota, too. Not so expensive. There are 2 styles of the 'right' lugs -- long and short. Either one will work. Lugs are about $2.50 each.

OK, another center cap question.

Do I need two more of the same size of the ones pictured above or are the fronts and rears different?

I have a 1990 SR5 automatic.

All those centers fit each wheel,, no differences on size. Only difference between 'fronts' and 'rears' on mine,,, the fronts say Automatic Disconnecting Differential and have the Toyota symbol in the center. The rears just have the Toyota symbol on them.

The front ones on my steel wheels are longer.

Yes. I have a spare set of steelies and center caps,too. Those wheels are made different than the aluminum ones. Hence, they need a longer cap to fit over the front hubs.

Can anyone point me to the correct type of lug nut for the factory aluminum for 1990 - 1995?

Info I found on the wheels:

Diameter 15, Width 7 (4 DOUBLE SPOKE, 8 SPOKE), CAUTION! Acorn & shank lug nuts used. The wheel hole sizes are different. Use the original style lug nuts that came w/the wheels.

Those look like the jin-yew-wine article. Those are the 'long' style. The short style will work ,too. The shorts are just a little harder to get 'started' on the stud cuz machined hole on the wheel doesn't offer much finger room.

I have opted to get some cheaper lugs so I can save a little money(still paid 40 some dollars). I picked these up at Advanced Auto today.

Do these look like they will do the trick?
If not, no worries, I'll just take them back.
My wheels will be in sometime this week.

I won't say they won't work, but I would be very careful installing those on your new wheels. See the length of the threaded part below the shoulder of the hex part on the lug? It appears to be longer than the same part on the stock lugs. If the lugs you purchased bottom out on the hub behind the wheel BEFORE the washer/hex clamp down on the machined part of the wheel, you'll damage your wheels / wheel studs ( at least ) or possibly lose control of your vehicle ( at worst ).

That extra long part of the lug is why I chose to go with the factory lug nuts. There is a flat made into the actual nut BEHIND the flat washer on the factory style lug nuts. This effectively clamps the machined part of the wheel to the hub.

I think mine cost about 2.50 each. Cheap insurance. Yeah. I know you need 24 of 'em. Hate to see you ruin new wheels ,, or worse.

Looks like ya dun good . I'd drive em a week and then go back around and re-torque, just to be sure.
