lug nuts on black rims

Been thinking more and more about painting my stock rims black. I've read through all the threads on painting the rims, but haven't seen much on what people did with the lug nuts?

I want the lugs to be black, but durable enough to withstand removing of the tire without chipping the paint. I don't think any of the spray paints would work. Short of sending them off to be powder coated, any other suggestions?

I dont want to have to touch up the lugs every time the wheel comes off. Thanks!

If you paint them, you have to be careful not to get paint on the threads. I've also heard about people baking them to make the paint stronger. You could always get colored lugs. Or lug nut covers haha, check these out

If you paint them there's no way that some paint won't chip off when you go to torque them on.

Thanks for the turn-on to the black lug nuts. Cheap and tough. Those will be great after I paint my wheels. I think some other peeps on this site will feel the same.
