Hey everyone. I've been lurking here for a couple weeks and thought I'd introduce myself. I just bout a 2005 4runner limited 4.7 recently with 113k miles. I picked it up for under 5k and will be putting about 2-3k into it and was wondering if anybody had some more advice for me.
This is what I know that I'm doing:
Oil change (mobil 1 synthetic 5w30)
Air Filter (I'm going to try the K&N, I've heard mixed reviews, but mostly good)
Cabin Filter
Spark Plugs (NGK Iridium)
Rotate/Check Tires
Here's what I've scheduled for the dealer, since I think it's overdue a bit on it's maintenance:
Replace Timing Belt
Water Pump+Gasket
Thermostat+Gasket
Check the Thermostat Housing
Timing Belt Tensioner
Check the Seals
Drive Belts
Transmission Service
Transfer Case Service (include front and rear diff)
Replace Brake Fluid
Is there anything else that I might want to look while I'm at it? Obviously, the dealer is going to be doing a full vehicle inspection, but is there anything that I should ask about specifically?
The quote I got for all of the above was about $1750 plus tax (which includes an air conditioning recharge, as it's not functioning properly) for any of those wondering.
