lol I know exactly what I'm talking about. You don't know what you're talking about. I've ran the checks to be safe several times when these big virii that everyone talks about come out. I just don't download stupid crap from places I don't trust. Or maybe I'm lucky.
I've been a tech geek for over 12 years since I got my first pc, repartitioned it, and ran redhat linux for a year and half before giving up "learning to hack" because I don't like reading code.
But you're not a person who doesn't like making a-hole assumptions I guess
Edit- and if you read it again you'll see I have a Mac so I don't have any pcs to be infected as you said

In assuming you dont know what you are talking about I am not being an ahole because you make techically ignorant statements.
You are a mac user then and self professed "tech person" yet you think
1) there is no danger from trojens / viruses
2) Apple should act more like MS .....
You say "where does everyone get all these viruses" and go on to say your PC/Mac has no issues.
As has already been stated:
* most people have no idea if they are infected unles they run malware detection
* 600,000 people just like you are infected
* the trojens often come fron pop-up and flash ads used on forums just like T4R.

I wouldnt call running Linux Red Hat "hacking", learning to use Linux / Unix and writing C or Java are very different things. There are lots of "IT guys" who have no idea how to program or how a program executes code.

Thank you for restating things that were already posted. See my previous post where I said I do run checks when these pandemic virii get out, and have yet to have anything come up.
I don't think there is no danger in Trojans but I think there are ways besides memory consuming antivirus programs. And I didn't make the statement Mac should be like pc in general, I said they should take more time work on OSs instead of releasing a new one every 6-8 months without fixing previous bugs like the fact that I can't easily read PDFs in safari or get steady wifi.
Ms releases service packs to fix their junk whereas apple makes you pay $30 for a new OS.
But by you're attitude I'm sure you're one of the condescending apple genius types people who can never be wrong so I'm not gonna keep arguing. I'm gonna go enjoy my virus/Trojan free computer. Have a nice day!

dude, again, that's simply not true. take a breath. read. learn.
1) Apple has released three point releases to OS X Lion 10.7 since its introduction... it is now at 10.7.3. these point releases are the equivalent of the service pack in Windows parlance. so while i'm sympathetic that they may not have remedied your specific problems... yeah, you are getting your free "service packs", if that's the way you need to hear it in order to catch up with the rest of the class.
2) if you don't understand that Apple's $30 OS X upgrade is the equivalent of upgrading from Windows Vista (shudder) to Windows 7 for the bargain price of $30 (and an absolute fricking marketing nightmare for Microsoft, when its mainstream competitor is charging barely nothing for a major OS release)... well, i can just stop typing now...

you're totally welcome, martini. since Apple now has its own process to disinfect/protect via Software Update folks should really just be going that route (least resistance).
i did, however, send a link to the F-Secure Flashback removal tool to a relative and it cleared them up right quick.
