Bought me this set of 80 series wheels that are in excellent condition for an absolute steal. Found them on IH8MUD. Picking them up tomorrow morning in Fredericksburg. Expect to see them on in the next week or so. :hungry:

Love them! Can't wait to see them all mounted.

Get these on a take a good close up picture, I need to add the LC80 wheels to that one post on the buyer's guide.
 
$240 + 50 mile round trip worth of gas in my RDX. Very pleased. Gonna retouch the center caps in silver.
 
Oops meant $250 but it's basically the same... Also gonna have to buy new lugs. I wonder if my old locks will work though.
 
Not a bad deal at all, and like you said, those ones are in good shape.

RE the lugs/locks, I've read that there are actually two versions of those wheels, the only difference between the two being that they require different types of lugnuts. Also, glad to hear you're not going to paint them black... Nothing against black wheels (I have black wheels), but I think the 80 series wheels look best with just the factory finish, or a powdercoat that is similar to the factory silver.

Yeah that was the icing on the cake is that the original finish is still in great sape (for 17 year old rims, I believe these came off a '94, right before they switched to acorn style. Ones before that were washer style, which is what I'll need for these bad boys. Very excited, picking them up in a few hours.

The look great and you got them for a steal for sure!! I paid 200 for mine, which is still good, but they were in a little rougher shape and no caps.

They are 16x8 with 4.5" backspacing. Perfect for anyone wanting to run 285s.

As far as the lugs... The older shank style wheels used the tapered acorn lugs where as the newer ones used mag seated acorn lugs. I don't however remember the year it switched. Here's for reference of the lugs..

So, if these are the shank style ones you'll need new lugs and locks all around.
 
Nice find! I wanted these wheels for a while but could never find them close enough to me. Can't wait to see them mounted up.
 
If they have the mag style lugs, you should be able to re-use yours, right?

Don't get the cheap autozone ones with the washers- they're horrible and the shoulder is too long...OEM lugs are the way to go but they're like 4 bucks each...keep that in mind...


regardless, those are some awesome wheels! can't wait to see you get some rock rash on them at Rausch Creek!! :fro:
 
We will have to see how they look. I have a set for sale as I need the cash vs keeping the wheels. I think the later versions used the shank style (mine) and the earlier ones used the acorn.

Here they are!! Also got my LF 170's in the mail. Man si=o many goodies. And the truck is done!! Picking it up tomorrow, probably having the wheels swapped Tuesday, and then all that's left is sliders. Oh, and some 7.75 wraps are in the mail from Cali, and I'm just gonna go ahead and grab at set of 883's from ToyTec. Gonna be a fun week. :thumb3:

Ugh, $140 on OEM lugs... whack.

As for the rock rash, no! Bad dog, down boy.. they are a little rough but don't need any more abuse. What's the best solution I could use to give these suckers a good cleaning

Dish soap or like Dove bar soap works awesome for cutting through grime. Or wheel cleaner but make sure you get one safe for painted wheels so it doesn't strip off the clear coat.

DO NOT sand or use any abrasive! They have a clear coat!
