MAF driving me nuts!

So, for the last month, I've had the check engine light one. I previously had gone to a mech, and he used is code reader on my 91' yoda 4runner. Apparently it was the MAF sensor. To get to the point, I tried cleaning the old one with some MAF cleaner...truck wouldn't even start after a lot of praying and air drying. (mind you, it ran before the cleaner) So I went and bought a new MAF (well a re manufactured one). I install it with success! Idle sounded better, engine light went off. Today it came back on after...oh, 25 miles.
What Do I do? I so need some help.

sure you do!
in the bottom of my signature is a link to the website 4crawler it will show you how to get the code with just a paperclip or 3inch piece of wire.
once you get the code you will know whats wrong.
there are 6 sensors that will throw codes and 20 codes for many issues so it may not be the MAF could be just a O2 sensor.
read up on the paperclip trick and then report back once you have a code.
anything else let me know.

ok so the MAF is giving you issues if your old one went bad then the new one i would look for a bad wire or bad ground.
try to keep in mind that the rebuilt MAF's can go bad they re assemble units all day long a bad one is bound to sneak by.
if this is only your first new MAF to go bad i say get another one and try that if that goes bad you may bigger issue in the wiring.
