MAF sensor cleaning easy Video

Maybe this is already posted around here but I found this video to be helpful for those interested in doing this simple maintenance:

My questions are dealing with the battery and whether to unhook the negative to reset the system or not with the MAF clean.

I've done this so many times and never once disconnected the battery when doing this.

I never disconnect my battery either. I use the CRC maf cleaner. I'm not sure I would trust that radio shack one.

I also use the CRC. Wish they sell 'em in smaller cans. I only needed 4 squirts.

CRC cleaner is great.

Basically, any electrical contacts cleaner will work.

Yes as they make a TB cleaner as well

I just did this yesterday and my gauge is still giving me a horrible mpg; around 11.3. I used to get in the 22's but lately this has been getting lower and lower. Any ideas as to why?

Have you reset the computer. be it the AVG MPG one or the car by unhooking the battery for like 5-10 mins?

Didn't think about the battery. I did reset the MPG one and it started at 32.9 and then hung around 22.1 for about a day but now its back to around 11.3.

I'm pretty sure the part in the video that is being cleaned is actually the Temperature Sensor and not the actual Mass Airflow Sensor. To clean that you must spray inside the top of the sensor onto the two little wires to really clean the MAF sensor.
