I am getting my stock muffler cut out and a magnaflow in its place getting done tomorrow cost is going to be 179.59 with tax. I will try and record the way it sounds and post it up for everybody's listening pleasure.

It is only going to be a muffler not a tip or anything like that it will probably be alot like idrivet4r photos

I went with the Flowmaster Super 44 Extreme muffler. 2 1/2" CENTER and 2 1/2 OUT OFFSET

Been real busy lately with my kids in soccer.I'll get some sound clips next weekend when I find some time.That's why I didn't post as everybody wants to hear a sound clip.It's deep and loud with the DT headers! Not for the meek! It sounds alot like the video clip of the Jeep on the website.

Well the muffler is on sounds good not to loud and no drone on the highway either which is what I wanted. They installed a magnaflow 12256. I also got a 10% discount so it ended up being 161.90 with tax not to bad.

Nice, just looked it up, a 18" body length, 24" total length. Mine is 22" Body length, 28" total. Both are Stainless Steel and Center/Offset style with 2.5" in, 2.5" out. I wonder what the difference in sound would be with the 4" body difference, if any? Definitely attempt a sound clip and post it, my clips have all been fairly crappy.

I really want to hear Harper's Flowmaster 44. I had a 50 series in my Tacoma, wasn't too pleased, then tried a 40 Series, liked it better but the interior drone was incredible, could never carry on a conversation inside the truck. Then I tried a 70 series, had a good balance of aggressiveness and quietness in the cab. That's why I attempted a Magnaflow this time, I can hear the exhaust when I want, but also carry on conversations inside.
On a different note, I had a 40 series in my 88 4Runner, sounded Great with the 22RE and headers, also had a 40 series on my 2000 Jeep cherokee with AFE intake, sounded and still sounds like a V8 at idle :thumb3:. It has an inline 6.

I will try and get a sound clip tomorrow and post it up. On another note I will hopefully be getting a K&N cold air intake in the next few weeks. The combo of the 2 should be nice I had a smaller magnaflow and K&N intake on my 04 SR5 V6 with the resonater removed it sounded good but the smaller magnaflow muffler had alot of highway drone. I would also like to know what a flowmaster sounds like as well.

^^Yeah, that's what I researched as well, smaller Magnaflows have more interior drone, that's the main reason I chose such a large one. Wanted to make sure I didn't keep swapping mufflers out like I did before.
Having a CAI will definitely make it sound more aggressive. :thumb3:
Currently I'm not sure if I have an exhaust leak somewhere or what but I can hear a little whistle when I'm accelerating quickly. Sounds cool!!
It might just be the muffler IDK.

I like it a lot, gives the 4Runner an expeditionary look and is nice to have to store more cargo if need be. Harper has been in contact with Sergio at BajaRack and they might make a utility style flat rack similar to the new ones they recently released for the FJ's. If they do make those I'll probably sell mine and pick one up.
