40-60 run up with TRD intake and magnaflow 12586

2nd vid tried to just do a quick vid of exhaust when downshifting into 4th on interstate. Slight incline.

thanks for the clips.. very nice..

the TRD sounds awesome.. definitely hear that more than the muffler

what I don't understand how the TRD is much louder than stock when it's sealed in a box just like the stock air box..

is there a significant sound increase with the TRD? how about throttle response and the butt dyno :D

Don't forget to tip your waitresses, folks!
LMAO...
Check your PM Jay, shouldnt you be riding your bike in da woods son???
Small world, I think it sounds good. Im still leaning towards the borla and trd intake though. Just have to see what the wife got me for fathers day before I drop some coin on an intake and cat back system.

I commute often on the interstate for work and avg mpg before intake was 17.5-18 and after intake was 19.5 avg mpg. Yes it is more responsive IMO. Passing power is better.

I agree, the TRD does sound awesome - the loudness comes from the straight tube though. It removes all the stock resonators/baffles in the pipe.

Haha glad you enjoyed that one. But yea, intake and exhaust sound good... Guess it's time to start putting some extra pennies away on the side

wow better gas miles. I always thought upgrading intake gives alittle more power therefore lowering the gas mileage. are you using stock air filter or k&n?

Thanks for the sound clips...sounds great! +rep

You are welcome! I know they are short but they do the job.

Aftermarket intakes give you extra HP by being less restrictive and straighter air flow into the motor, hence also giving you a little better MPG. Not much but it does! Just remember to go easy on the throttle from time to time.

Nice vids, I have the same Magnaflow, just don't have a CAI yet.

Here is a video of mine from outside a few months ago while I was out in the desert. If you turn up the speakers, you can hear it all the way till I let off the gas. If I remember correctly, I got up to about 50-60ish.

I was looking at a 14" Magnaflow 11225 for my t4r. i am worried that it might be really loud. Any opinions on this one?

If you could get 1.5-2 mpg better on average and have a more responsive engine by swapping an intake, they would have done it from the factory. Especially considering that toyota makes the new intake. Not trying to rain on your parade, still sounds good though! :thumb3:
