Magnaflow muffler

Tried a search and couldnt find exactly what i was looking for. Im thinking of buying a magnaflow muffler and wanted to know what size/part number you guys with a magnaflow are running. Correct me if im wrong, but as long as its 2.25 in/out with a center/offset, I could get either the 18'" or the 24" right? I want a deeper sound but not something very loud, so im guessing the 24" is the way to go? thanks

I really like it, at idle you can barley hear anything, but it has a nice deep (not too loud) throaty rumble sound whenever you give it some gas, Cruising at highway speeds it sounds great too, not really loud per-say but you can tell its there.

i got mine from a muffler shop so i have no idea what number it is.

but it sees to be about 18 inches long but i did not measure it.

it sounds amazing. my friends have said its loud but i dont really know how loud it is because im always driving.


in the cab its nice and you cant really hear it when holding a consistent speed.

it gives the 4runner a deep sound. i recomend it

I do not know the part number but i am running the 14 inch Magnaflow....it was a little loud at first but once it broke in it sounds awesome in the 3.4

im looking for something that will have a good sound at idle as well as driving, without being too loud. I dont mind hearing it while i drive as long as its not annoying! will a larger muffler, say a 5x8 oval design acheive this? or does the overall length contribute to the sound? anyones input is appreciated

i have a 18'' magnaflow part #11255 it sounds great real nice tone not super loud unless u get on it and the isr and deckplate mod make its all sound really good

I would definitely recommend the magnaflow then. When I got mine I just went into an exhaust shop and told them I wanted a magnaflow, they pulled one off the shelf and installed it. that was all there was to it. My receipt says its a model 11225

the #11225 is a 14'' which will be louder than the #11255 which is 18''

nice thanks for the input everyone. i think im going with the 18" part number 11255....cheapest I could find it online was like $78 with free shipping...anyone get it cheaper than that??

are you taking it to a shop to install it? If so I would call around to some local exhaust shops and see if they have any deals going. I got a good deal on mine because I bought and installed it at one shop.

$78 is a good price I think. I've got the 18 inch magnaflow and I got it for about that price shipped. Cost $25 bucks to get it installed at a shop but I've never heard anyone else get them installed for that cheap. I've got part number 12255. Nice sound (not too loud) at idle and obviously gets louder when you give it the gas. What I like about it is when you are at high speeds, say on the highway, it's not overpowering or annoying. I was concerned because I take a lot of road trips and didn't want a constant drone. You don't get that with the 18". I'm really glad I got the muffler and I think once you get it on there you'll be driving around with your windows down wishing you would have done this mod earlier. :bigok:

sounds like this muffler is what im looking for then! I was thinking of just hacking out the old muffler and clamping in the new one to a get a feel for how it will sound. Then i was thinking about having a buddie of mine or a shop weld it in. Anyone have a video clip of this muffler on a 3.4? it seems the ones I find are for the magnaflow cat-back or an otherwise unspecified magnaflow.
