Magnetic Gray Metallic Trail Edition ?

Hi all. Toyota's website says that "Magnetic Gray Metallic" is not an option for the Trail Edition trim of the new 2010 4runner (they list only silver, black, salsa red and shoreline blue [which I've yet to see on any list or photo].

However, there were initially a few listed in inventory for the Southeast (screencaps in the thread on the delays).

I put my money down on a Trail Edition back in October and the sales manager has repeatedly confirmed to me that it is a Magnetic Gray Metallic Trail Edition and even mailed me the distribution printout.

It is still delayed until Christmas and they have not received a VIN for the vehicle yet.

I'm trying to confirm whether this mysterious color/trim combination actually exists or whether I am being intentionally or inadvertently misled so that I can get my money back and look elsewhere for a Trail Edition in case this car doesn't actually exist.

So.... has anyone seen one yet on a lot or has anyone seen inventory lists of a "Gray" Trail Edition outside of the Southeast?

Thanks all!

I saw the little dealership cheat book yesterday. It had all colors except white as available for the Trail Edition. Maybe silver and black were first off the line and the other colors will come later. The Toyota online configurator always seems to be in tune with what is available at that time.

If you look on the second page of the Video's posted in the 5th gen T4R's, I believe they are showing a Mag. Gray stuck in the mud. Check it out. It may be silver, but I believe it's Mag. Gray. Good luck with your search.

Regards

i have a mag gray trail edition on order at my local dealership in canada. my go to guy at the dealership told me that the trail will be available in mag gray. he even showed me the order sheet after completing it with the color code for mag gray and trail edition for the model of car on it.

i've had the money saved up to buy the car for a while but i havent had any updates nor have heard anything about any canadians getting their mits on a 2010 4runner. i have a deposit on it at my local dealership and i'm hoping to get it soon, atleast before the year is up.

i live pretty close to the ship yard where toyota unloads all its vehicles in western canada and i drive by every so often trying to peer through the chain link fence to see if there are any 2010s on the lot. nothing so far as i can see.

wish me luck :)

Go straight to the source. Call Toyota customer service in California and ask them.

Is this the same dealer that said we wouldn't see any 2010's on lots until 2010? I think you might be getting jerked around, so if you can find a TE somewhere else, do it.

Yes this is the same dealer that told me that they were holding them at ports to address some part delay issue. She never explicitly said how long the delay was but when I heard mine would not arrive until Xmas, I assumed that applied to all of them. On the one hand, she was right that Toyota delayed all of the 4runners by about 4 weeks (pushed back the October 19 NA-US release to November 19). On the other hand, I don't know how much the lack of transparency is their fault versus ToMoCo running things their way and letting the dealers deal with the fallout.

Hey good catch! I think you are right that it is a Mag Gray. Not the prettiest thing. Makes me wish now that my dealer had found a silver one.

At this point, I guess I'll take whatever though.

jca21, good luck with your order too!

As far as I understood the Trail was only offered in Black and Silver with the Black, dark gray interior...but I've been wrong before:withstupid:

Groove Toyota.............

Mountain States Toyota has a SR5 and LTD and so does Go Toyota in Centennial (both were white for the SR5 and silver for the LTD). Boulder had none.
I really like the Mag Grey too.

(Just moved to CO and was looking at them last weekend.)

You found a trail period? I'll have to look up where Groove is located and see if it's still there. I won't be in the market for a few months but I like to look.

Well my Magnetic Gray Metallic Trail Edition arrived last Sunday. The same day I had to fly to CA. So I will return to pick it up on Christmas.

Whee.

Well I'm still jealous that a) You're in Cali where it is in the mid 60s compared to 13F as I type this in Broomfield, and b) you found a Mag Gray Trailrunner.

I'm still about 8 months out from a decision here.

Congrats!
