Magnussen Supercharger Belt

I've had my SC for about 15k miles... thought I'd replace the SC Belt as Preventative Maintenance. I remember Mag's website having it available, but can't seem to find it now.

I think it was a regular Toyota belt for something else, but in any case, does anyone know the part number and/or source for it?

Is your belt showing any sort of fraying on the edges, cracking or wear? If not that's a bit of a hassle to replace it. They tend to last a very long time, especially if you have the dynamic tensioner. If you don't have the dynamic and instead have a pulley that's static and doesn't move I highly recommend switching to one.

It's the dynamic tensioner, I installed it new about 4 years ago. I don't recall particularly if it was that difficult, but then again I can't remember what I had for breakfast.

I'll double check, I was thinking about putting the new belt on which I ordered, and then keeping the old one as a spare. What I can't remember is if that belt snaps, is the car still usable and drivable or no?

For me, my other car is german and so I do tons of preventative maintenance, this car has not required any of that, but if I'm out in the trail in the middle of nowhere I would just feel more comfortable knowing it's a new belt.

Ok, that makes sense then. If it snaps the rotors are basically air-tight and it'll only get air through the bypass valve which ain't much. I used to carry a spare as well until I realized how long the belts last but if you are wheeling then there's a lot more that could go wrong. All it could take is a rock kicked up in the worst possible spot to ruin your day.

Although, now I can't remember the routing off hand.. but just realized if that SC belt drives the Alt.. then I'd be in real trouble even if the Engine would still run. I'd probably be okayish if the SC belt drives the PS pump though.

But yeah, I wanted to have a spare anyway so this kills 2 birds with one stone. Good to know they last a while though!
