Magnusson SuperCharger REBUILD - anybody done one?

I've got just over 100k miles on mine and starting to hear gravelly bearing sounds (i think). Checked all pulleys, they've all been replaced at least once, some twice.

Anybody been through rebuilding a TVS1320 for our platform? DIY or did you send it in?

I wouldn't mind doing it myself unless super special tools are needed.

I'm not happy with how mine is sounding as well, called Magnusson and ask for oil change procedure, the reposes was " it is not recommended". Which I think is BS. Please share updates here.

100K is about what superchargers last. Had one on an SLK 230. Wife got rear ended by a big rig which totaled the car at 100K; she was fine. I was relieved as most reports had the supercharger going out by 120K

Agreed, 100k is about average life, but you can pretty easily replace the bearings, seals and oil as long as you have a press. Rest of the hard parts should last forever.

I've rebuilt too many 14-71 Superchargers to count in professional racing. They aren't too difficult to rebuild.

The Eaton Superchargers are even simpler, and can be rebuilt too. There were (likely still are) businesses that sold rebuild kits for Eaton/Magnuson/TRD Superchargers, and some offered rebuilding services if you don't want to tackle the job yourself. A quick search should find those companies.

quick update- magnusson sends their rebuilds to superchargers online. I called them and they said-
10-15 days turnaround from date recieved
stage 2 rebuild which is everything is around $2660 1 year warranty
stage 1 rebuild is $1295 90 day warranty

he called Magnusson to get a price on a new supercharger without the whole kit and that is $5959 and takes up to 6 weeks to get.

I'd rather do this myself. Sounds like the only challenge could pulling the needle bearings. There's not a lot of direct info online for this particular tvs1320 configuration.

I'm going to start making calls.
