Maint. dash light on after oil change again...

Does anybody know the trick (if there is one) to turning off (or resetting)the "Maint" light on the dash of an '07? When I bought my runner, I had the oil changed quickly in San Jose, drove it across the country to Mpls., and 10 miles from my new house, the "Maint" light comes on. I bring it into the dealership the next day thinking I had pushed it too hard (the trip took 2 days only) and they told me that the oil monkeys forgot to "reset" the "Maint" sensor or something that indicates when it is time to take it in for service. Now, just this week I did a complete fluids switch (52,000 miles on it) and the light went from "blinking" 5 times and then turning off during start up, to staying on full time now. Any Ideas?

for my dads tacoma, with the key off, you press and hold the odo knob and turn the key to the on position and keep the knob held for like 5 seconds. should be the same on the 4runner

1- Set your trip meter to "ODO".
2- Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.
3- Push and hold the trip meter button and, while holding
4- Turn the ignition key to "ACC"
5- Keep holding the trip meter button (about 2 or 3 seconds) till the Maintenance light flashes

You should be done.

The maintenance light is programmed to come on at about 7500 miles after last reset. It will actually start to stay on longer after starting at about 5000 miles after the last reset.

Here are the simple steps to reset it yourself if you do your own oil changes, or if the dealer forgets to do it.

TSB EL002-03 has these instructions:

1. Turn ignition switch to "ON" position
2. Set odometer/trip display to "ODO" mode
3. Turn ignition switch to "OFF" position
4. Depress and hold the Trip Meter "RESET" button while turning the ignition switch to the "ON" position
5. The service maintenance reminder light will:

i. Illuminate solidly for 3 seconds
ii. Blink for 2 seconds
iii. Illuminate solidly for 1 second
iv. Turn off

6. Release the Trip Meter "RESET" button
7. Turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position
8. Turn the ignition to the "ON" position and confirm that the service maintenance reminder light goes out.
