Maint light and traction control?

okay so im stumped on some things,
First, on the left side of your dash by the door there is a button that has a picture of the axel and it has an X in the middle of it, when i push it a light doesnt come up on my dash or anything, is this traction control? also how do i get it to work, could it possible just be a wire problem?

Second, my MAINT light flashes about 5-6 times when i crack my car up. Are there specific things i can check cause i do not want to pay to get it hooked up to a computer when it might be something easy to fix. thanks alot guys any ideas are awesome

If i remember correctly you need to get the T4r into 4hi to be able to activate the center diff lock button which is what you said has an "x" in the middle.
The second concern you have about the maint light it means you are <500 miles away from needing an oil change. once it stays solid on then you officially hit 5k since last maint light reset.
