maint light on. please help!

i was getting ready for a trip so i got my oil changed for time sake i took it to the place around the corner instead of the dealership. half way through my trip my maint light came on so i checked my oil, it was just fine. could the wrong kind of oil make that happen or maybe the maint light just nees to be reseat? anyone with any suggestions would be very helpful.

Type of oil wouldnt make it go off, if i remember correctly it goes off of mileage...... Would the light flas a few times whenever you started the truck? Try resetting it then go from there, i'm sure its fine though.

Been discussed many times. It's just a timer. Instructions for resetting are in the owner's manual.
