Maintenance Costs Longterm

I don't know if it's that the engine area and vehicle are larger, making everything more noticeable, or that I really care about the vehicle already, even after three weeks or so, but psychologically I feel that my 2001 4Runner is expensive to maintain compared to my 2002 CR-V.

I think it's because I didn't give a **** about the CR-V's head gasket, muffler, radiator, frame, wiper motors, etc., whereas on my 4Runner I'm concerned about each and every part and each and every performance issue.

I'm just scared I won't be able to keep this baby on the road long-term, but I can't imagine that it would cost much more than 60% over the cost of a similar year car.

Keep up on regular maintenance and you won't have issues man . Aside from regular scheduled maintenance , the only thing I've had to do is my front brakes and if I told you how long they lasted well you probably wouldn't believe me . Dude , 3rd Gen's are a great , long lasting reliable vehicle .

It's at 198,000kms. 4,000 of them are mine. The front brakes were put in new by the last guy along with a timing belt. I had every fluid imaginable changed on Thursday along with the spark plugs.

I have well over 250,000 on mine . Brakes and plugs so far. I also run all synthetic lubes , transfer case , engine , trans , diff's etc... Mobil 1

Sweet. They are a true beauty in my opinion. So much fun to drive. Just like to hear they are beautiful on the inside, too.
