Maintenance = long life

Replaced my rear bumper because it was rusting out so bad, it looks nice and clean now! Also if you own a 5speed you will understand that every time you push the clutch in, it squeaks like crazy. Well I found a rod attached to the pedal that goes through the fire wall. I just put grease on it and its now silent! I also replaced the gear oil last week with 75-90 mobile1 full synthetic gear oil and mobile1 full synthetic engine oil the week before. Good maintenance keeps these trucks runnin! My last runner had 210,000 and ran strong. Then I flipped it on ice.

Yeah, that flippin' thing is tough on just about anything. I think people sometimes forget about things like center of gravity with these things when messing around. Not that I'm implicating you or anything, but it's easy to do, esp with a lift.

I would like to have a 5 spd in my 2000 SR5. That would be sweet.

Ya I was doing 60mph on the highway and hit black ice between the lanes when I was changing lanes. The second I started sliding I knew it was going to roll.

Yeah, I slid on ice on the highway too, but I just ended up jumping on to the guardrail, very little damage.

How is Mobil 1 working out for you? From this post and many others that I searched for it seems like anything by the Redline MT-90 is too slippery for the 5 speeds and will develop problems in the future.

Mobile 1 works fine for me, I don't notice a difference in performance or anything since changing it. The gear oil in there before I think was from the factory.

To adjust those cylinders you have to bleed the slave. Its located under the car on the drivers side of the transmission. Other than that I dont know how to adjust them. I did rebuild my slave on the first Runner and on this one my dad replaced the slave and master while I was away at school cause my brother needed the truck.
