Make factory inverter always come on at startup

Can anyone help me with figuring out if its possible to make the factory inverter come on automatically when the vehicle is started up.

I plan on getting a Goal Zero 400 to run my fridge overnight but know that I will forget to turn on the inverter. Since the switch is just a momentary switch I'm not sure what I need to do to make it automatically come on.

I don't know what it is, but I figure there's a pretty good reason for it to be designed the way it is.

Most fridges seem have a 12/24 and 120 volt input. Why not just hardwire the fridge and use 12V? Seems like converting may be overkill.

I currently have an always on 12v for the fridge, but I think it will kill my battery too fast when ambient temps are 100 degrees so I plan on using a goalzero for summer.

How long do you plan on being stationary? Last summer while on a 3 week road trip through the southwest temps were 90-120 during the day. I ran my Indel on the eco setting and the food was always cold and no issues with battery. There were at least three days in there I didn't move for almost two days. I don't have a dual battery so I carry one of the larger jump starter battery packs, I've only used it once, that was after 4 days sitting. If you've got a goal zero as well I would think you'd be well covered.

With my fridge at 35 degrees it shutoff after a 3 day weekend with high temp about 80, I don't feel confident it will make it a weekend in the summer

Is that with the OEM starter battery or a deep cycle?

From what I was reading the Yeti 400 is only good for fridge power of about 8-12 hours. If you over discharge it you'll shorten the battery life as well.

I generally run at 36, if I run on Max it will struggle in that heat and may shut off but the eco setting seems to manage the heat and keep the temp. Again that's on an indel b. I usually would only open around meal times and got good at planning what I was taking out before opening the lid!

The plug in the back comes on automatically when starting doesn't it so if you start with a fully charged yeti plugged in will it still feed fridge as it cycles on and off with the truck?

As liquidmantis asked, you should have a deep cycle battery but sounds like you've got your solution. :banana:

Just toss on a charger once a month overnight, going to go. My smart charger was like $30-40 off amazon.

i have outlets, i don't have an ability to use them without running a drop cord across a public sidewalk that would either get me a ticket or just get stolen (drop cords are expensive)

without a maintenance charger I don't trust a deep cycle battery

Anyone find a solution to this original thread request. I plan on using a goal zero to power my fridge while plugged into the AC outlet in the back but want the 115 ac switch on at startup and off when ign is off. I found thread for always hot but only need on when ign on so i dont drain my battery. Goal zero will power fridge full time and only want to charge the GZ while the car is on. Fridges have a low voltage cutoff and im using lithium bat that can discharge lower then agm and lead so fridge would cutoff before at half the lithium capacity and essentially defeat the purpose of having the lithium. GZ requires extra accessories to the 12v cig port but using the AC port on the GZ solves this issue without the added parts
