"Making" my own rims

Anyone familiar with Pro Comp rims? Their site is hard to navigate slightly. I'm interested in the second set of wheels from the top on this page:

Wheel Finder

I'm thinking of getting these rims and adding one of those circular TRD stickers to the center cap. Anyone think that would look good? Also here's the specs on the wheel. Would 285/75 Nitto's fit on these wheels with no problems? And they picture shows 5 lughs, but the description says 6. Should I assume it's 6? It looks like I'll have to call and get bolt info and prices.

yeah i would call them too. Im running the procomp 7089's but they are 16 inch wheels with a slightly wider tire

As for the TRD wheel insert, if its the same setup as mine then yeah you can get it to work, you will have to heat up the procomp one and take it out to replace with the TRD one and thats all!
 
well to tell you my opinion... Right before i bought my rims i had ordered the TRD fj wheels cause i wanted to keep everything OEM, and yeah... that was when toyota told me no! we dont want your stinking money we'd rather keep these wheels as a limited option... ahhh! it was a lost battle and a sad day for me haha.

i think OEM is the way to go so the LC rims would be sick and i think people here would be jealous too! However aftermarket does give you a unique look i kinda like those rims you pointed out.

Down the road when the money starts flowing again im gonna try to get a hold of those TRD fj wheels again, maybe the newer ones with a little modification?
 
I would go for the LC wheels in a heartbeat if you can find a set. I think they look great on the 3rd Gens and you definitely don't see them on there too much. I was trying to find a set myself, but the only time I found used ones in my area was after I bought my wheels.
 
The biggest benefit to aftermarket is that you can dial in the perfect offset. Alot of people on here run spacers with OE wheels which is a little worrisome IMO. that isn't a problem with aftermarket, not to mention there are so many styles so you can make it totally unique.
 
I think I'm gonna deposit a little more money in the bank tomorrow and pull the triger on a set of LC rims for $318 +$100 shipping and powdercoat them.
 
318 seems a little high. I saw a set on craigslist near me for 200 not too long ago. They will look sick though.
