Hi,
I am a new dad with a 4 month old baby. And I have a '99 SR% 4runner with 100k miles and it runs like the same new suv I bought at the dealers. There is some wear and tear on it but I love it and do not want to give it up.
Being a new dad I added a baby seat to the car. But I was wondering if someone could guide/explain to me some of the electronics in the car.
Basically I want to remove the CD and Radio (2 seperate dines) and install a car PC with touch screen. I did some reading on MP3Car.com and was told that these PCs have the ability to surf the web (with a network connection), play movies, hook up a backup camera and even hook into a car's diagnostics. So basically I can have all the high end options new cars offer but not at the high cost (GPS, Bluetooth, etc). with a few USB and Bluetoth connections and a car PC I can give my 4runner an information system that can be helpfull when I or my wife drives it.
I worked with computers for 15 years and feel comfortable setting up one in my 4runner. But have no idea how to connect it the 4runners electrical system.
If someone has an answer or solution please reply.
thanks
