Making the LED upgrade

Alright, well, all of the posts about this LED upgrades are apparently uploaded with photobucket, and i cant get the info I need. With that said, I have a mess of #74 and #24 leds, which fit into their respective slots, what i cant figure is what the defroster/ETC/Rear window use, now, my 2 questions are: What bulbs are they, and how do i test the bulbs as i put them in? from what i understand they go +12v -> light -> light ->... -> rheostat -> GND, which are first, and how can i test that i have them inserted the right way around?

Understand I have not done this mod before, but I know electronics. LEDs are polarized so they can only go in one way. If you put them in backwards its all god, just take them out and reverse the connection, then put it back in the right way. An easy way to tell if the LEDs are in the right way is that the positive lead is longer than the negative lead. The positive lead should be connected to the +12v and the negative lead should be connected to the current limiter/ rehostat

Having used lights from superbrightleds and VLED, I would absolutely 1000% buy the NEO-3 bulbs from VLED. The ones from SBL never fit through the board well, didn't put out light at the right angle to light them evenly, and would constantly flicker. I was at the point where I was going to replace them with halogens again when I rummaged through my little box of LEDs and found a pack of NEO-3s from VLED I had forgotten I had bought way back. They fit like a glove, the light distribution is better since the body is shorter, and not a single flicker or anything.

Keep in mind, I'm not bashing superbrightleds, since I have bought and use tons of bulbs from them for multiple cars. It just so happens in this case, the VLED bulb is much better suited for this application.

Ordering the NEO 3s now, in cool white, for the auto climate control buttons. Also getting a pair of NEO 4s for the auto climate control display.

Sticking with the stock greenish color, maybe get NEO 4s in green? Some accounts for these LEDs are that they are relatively bright and washed-out on the LCD display. Not sure if the greens will be too dark on the LCD display, or just not match well...

It really isn't that hard to:

1) search

2) read the tutorials and documentation sticky

OP - You'll be much better off.

Brian, I suppose I should not have deleted the sentence that I tried search, here and on Google, and that maybe the search terms used were problematic in getting desired results.

I found several threads, the obvious one (WRITE UP: climate control and dash bulbs 2000 limited), but I don't see talk about using a green LED for the display (NEO 4). What I had found was an expression that white wasn't exactly desirable. That then prompted my wondering if green might be the way to go...

IF there is a discussion here about a green LED for the auto climate control display, I'm not adverse to continued searching. What keywords should I use?

Thanks.

Sure man. My comment was really to the original poster. Not any commenters. It is just clear that OP didn't do any research. There are great how to threads already stickied on this subject.

I recently purchased std bulbs and new green covers. I haven't installed them yet but the plan is to look fully stock.

Are these plug and play or do you have to change any resistors or anything else?

It’s been close to 10 years ago i bought LED dash lights to put in my ‘89 Chevy pick up and it wound up they would not work with out changing resistors from what I remember. It was all over my electrical abilities. I know LED technology has come a long ways in that time but do not want to get in over my head.
