Reverse Light Upgrade

Just thought I'd throw this out there, as I know a lot of you guys camp or wheel at night.

I've never really been able to see behind me at night with the stock reverse lights, which is a bit of a headache. My buddy got some new reverse lights from Diode Dynamics, and after I saw how bright they were, I followed suit.

They're a bit pricy at $100 for the brightest bulb (which is what I opted for), but they seem to be well worth it. I figure they'll last quite a while being that they're LEDs. Also, it's just a plug & play set up. No extra wiring or relays or anything, just the LED bulbs.

Here's the ones I got, I opted for the XPR bulbs.

I was just looking at these. I have some Amazon LEDs in there now. They're okay, but I want more light esp with tinted windows up front. Debating trying the XPR (700 lumens) vs. just throwing some lights in the bumper. Can you post any pictures?

These look good (on paper), although i wish they were not the common daylight blue color. i think that separate lamps on the bumper or above on the roof or rack would be more useful, since they could be on a separate switch. So they'd be good for backing up in dark paces, but also good as work lights for setting up camp, etc.

I will get you a picture this week. And FWIW, the lights aren't really the blue light, it's more the white "daylight" type.

Thanks that would be nice 15-month review. Looking for upgrade above LED's in use these might
push me toward buy once cry once $100 don't get you much.

I put LEDs in my B-Ups several years ago and it's one of best upgrades you can make IMO.

I have pretty dark tint and couldn't see much behind me so I took a 2" LED pod and shaved it down to fit into my rarely used hitch receiver. The light is on a bracket that is held in with the hitch pin and the wires are on a 2 pin quick disconnect. Wired it to a switch next to the steering wheel. Also put drop in LEDs in the stock housings.

Could of swore XPR's were $99 12-2 borderline price, today $119.95 nah.

I like that led pod. These are so dim in the backup lighting.

I used to tag led fog bars on the bumpers to brighten up the back area. I also think I just put backup cameras in with the radio upgrades to help as well..
