My hope ain't loose.
A manual 5th gen would be pretty sweet I guess. In theory, the FJ 6 speed should work just fine, and no one has even attempted the swap, right?

A manual 5th gen 2014 Trail Edition? I might sell both my 3rd gens! :biggrin2:

I always assumed it could be done with the right parts from a FJ or Taco. I just figured 5th gen guys are pussies & are too busy with their Plasti-Dip mods. LOL:vader:

Manuals are for rigs you actually like to DRIVE! On or off road.
I enjoy driving my 4Runner daily, go off road occasionally, and wheel it only a couple times a year.
If I got a 5th gen, it wouldn't be for stop-and-go traffic, and it def wouldn't be a wheeler!

The biggest hurdle would probably be the center console- anyone here know if they share the same console as an FJ? I assume they're different.

Bro have you even driven a manual off-road? You can’t throw it in gear and dump the clutch to blast up a hill in an automatic. Same principle works for street cars....my solution to everything is to dump the clutch and gun it.

I have. Had a built FJ with the 6 speed. I just much prefer an auto for wheeling. No need for me to blast up a hill. I prefer the slow and steady method.

That's why they make dual (or triple) cases. You get more gear options than you can imagine to bomb as fast or slow up any hill :gun6:

Swapping the auto out of my first gen was the best mod I ever did. While it may only have 30hp, it's much more enjoyable to drive than my auto 3rd gen.

I'll consent on the dual+ cases. I would totally change my mind if dual cases were an option.
