Time to jump in and formally say hello.
I finally got the 05 4runner I've been waiting for since I decided I wanted one in July. I had the bug bad and was lurking regularly and saving every picture I could get my hands on to tide me over until the 05 V8s came out. My 4runner picture folder is almost 200MB. Finally, I got a V8 limited on Jan 14 (ironically, right after I had started to think the V6 made more sense). It had all of 2 miles on it. I drove it an easy 150 miles on the night of the 13th on a "try before you buy" deal before finding some dirt and testing all the features. The night of delivery I took my son out to eat and could just BARELY manage to leave it alone in the parking lot. I knew I had a problem and I knew there was only one solution. GET THAT BUGGER DIRTY! I took my own advice and started getting it in the dirt every night (I keep Vampire hours). Night three I got it muddy and broke in the skid plates. Being on a self-imposed, open-ended vacation, I managed to get it in the dirt every night for two straight weeks. (I know, solo off-roading at night, not the best idea, but if any group of people would understand the sickness, it should be here, right?). I recently spent the night in it stuck in the snow, off road and out of cell phone range. I can report that it works quite well as a camping vehicle. Originally, I wanted to wait until I had a good batch of pictures to post as I didn't want to commit the double violation of being a new poster AND new 4runner owner posting without pics. I hear people have mysteriously disappeared for less.
