Marlin Clutch Disc Orientation - stamp on disc does not agree with FSM

Hey guys,
I'm installing the marlin clutch kit, and I just noticed the "FW Side" marking on the clutch disc is opposite what the FSM says for the 5VZ (FSM shows the "thick side" towards flywheel, but the disc itself is stamped such that the "thick side" would be towards the transmission.

So which way should it go?

My assumption is that the FSM is the way to go, since Marlin probably mixed-and-matched parts from other applications to achieve their higher load rating.

I would assume the orientation is critical based on damper spring orientation, throwout bearing clearance, and the pad material on each side...

The side were the spline housing sticks out longer needs to point towards the transmission.

The spline housing itself sticks out further on the side marked "FW side," so what you are saying agrees with the FSM. Do you have any reasoning behind this?

I will call marlin Monday AM to confirm.

FSM is the way to go.

Straight from Marlin: "You are correct. On the 5VZ it does have the raised edge of the disk facing away from the pressure plate and into the flywheel. I also made a note to have our disc label changed."
