Hello 4th Gen Forum. Introducing myself from the 3rd Gen Forum.
I have owned a White 3rd Gen for the last five years. Its a great rig but when a baby come into our world eight months ago I started the search for something bigger and as a hedge in case the 3rd Gen broke down. I have search high and low for Landcruisers and even another 3rd Gen (auto for the GF) but nothing panned out. Then one night checking out Facebook's new marketplace I found a Loaded 2003 V8 Limited 4x4 with 154K miles for $7100.
Went to check it out and she had some rust being from Nebraska but ran great. I told the seller who was the daughter of the mother who previously owned it that the rust tuned me off but she said she just wanted to get rid of it so lets deal. I asked if $5500 would work, she countered at $5700 so I said $5600. Sold!!!
I purchased this rig two weeks ago and so far everything seems in working order! So far have only had to replace the hood struts and fix the blinker. Rig has been dealer serviced 90% of its life!
So right now plan is to do some basic maintenance and take care of the rust (need some tips on this). This Rig will be the primary family hauler but I would like to make it somewhat more off-road/overland capable for trips and maybe a overland trip into Central America one day.
Here are some pictures including the under body....

Rust, Time to get grinding...
