Mass Air Flow Meter Inspection Proceedure

I've been doing an inspection procedure on the Mass Air Flow Meter because no check engine light is on, but under enhanced codes I have 3 Toyota Readiness codes related to the Mass Air Flow Meter p0100, p0102, and p0103 and they just happen to be referenced on this page; http://www.ezdries.net/Vidpics/4Run...l/Diagnostics/SFI System (1GR-FE)/cip0100.pdf I also get a p0300, but I'm thinking that resolves if I get the other codes to cycle out.

Looking at step #3 seems I could just use the connection at the MAF and check for the 0.5 to 3.0 V between the (terminals referenced in step #4) EG2 and VG, basically the 2 and 3, middle is 3, and to the left of the middle, 2 looking at connector upright. Seems like it should work if the continuity is all complete.

I have done this but got no voltage. The E2G, terminal 2 has continuity to ground. This would would indicate either there is not 0.5 to 3.0 V from the VG, terminal 3 or the continuity is bad. Here's where I am stuck.

What is best to measure the voltage between the terminals of the E4 ECM connectors? I've looked at the back probe with a paper clip method and I didn't think it wise.

Next question or maybe confirmation is in reference to the ECM and the E4 location, looks like it is at the top side when I look behind the glove box, is that correct?

Something I didn't understand in #3

Engine is idling Specified condition 0.5 to 3.0 V -if ->OK CHECK AND REPLACE ECM

I thought it would be the other way no voltage would mean the replacement was necessary, question here,

...so if I am reading this right, no voltage is a pass for not replacing the ecm? (My apology if that doesn't read properly.)
