After the fiasco following the issue with braking systems on the Toyota Prius (which suddenly and quietly died down), folks are now targeting the Lexus GX series as a rollover risk, prompting Toyota to halt sales. Here is an interesting fact: the Lexus GX 4xx series has been available outside the US as the Landcruiser Prado GX/TX and hit the streets long before the Lex was introduced in the States. During that time I've not heard of issues with easy rollovers (am working in Nairobi and narrow roads, sharp turns, kamikaze drivers are the norm). I actually considered buying one, and maybe the suspension is set up different but the truck (Prado) handles like any other. It seems folks in the States find issues with their vehicles that rest of the folks around the world don't see. Something against Mr. Yoda?

I think you're correct blue4r. And the media is way too ultra powerful in this country, it can sway opinions overnight. Everyone knows SUVs flip easier than cars, they always have, and that's why we have those warnings on our sunvisors. What else is new? Like Suzuki Samurais are known for keeping all 4 of their tires on the ground? How about the Isuzu Amigo? WTF do they have against Toyoda? Oh yeah, his vehicles last 3xs longer than ours.

Rolover accadents are caused by idiot drivers, not the car maker.

If a person decides to shoot someone, you wouldn't blame the gun manufacturer, yet we are seeing a similar situation in the auto industry.

I just watched a news clip on TV regarding this issue and the claim by consumer reports is that if you "accelerate during a turn the SUV may roll over" Come on!!!

BTW, the Yota dealer down the road is still selling Prado GXs, no suspended sales here....
Looks like GM, Ford and Chrysler have come up with a way to run Toyota to the ground. What's next? They will claim that 4runners are unsafe because the gas tank is right under the cab and may blow up in traffic next to a school bus and kill dozens of cute little kids?
