matte vinyl wraps

i have a 4th gen sr5 thats lifted and has 35s. its all blacked out. im about to vinyl wrap it because i need a new paint job (cant tell from far away) and im not sure which one the MATTE WHITE,MATTE BLACK, or the MATTE SILVER:happens:

I feel that white matte vinyl wrap would never look white/clean again.

I had some scratches in the back so I figured I'd sand it down with 2000 grit and took my clear coat off newb mistake..

I found the 3m matte wraps on metro styling .. For 525.. And free shipping there's all kinds of colors.. It's the best deal I've found... You need 60inchx50ft ... I measured mine out and it takes about 48 ft to do it

I'd change it up, you already had a black truck, why not try a different color. I'm not voting against black (black is my favorite color (even tho it's not a color)), but you might as well do something different. Maybe neon green arty:, or purple. So Gay

Are you familiar with wraps at all? Wraps in most cases dont come cheap, My boat cost about 4k to do the whole thing in marine grade extra thick vynil

Once wraps get a few gauges, scratches, etc depending on the color, how thick the makers vynil is, its gunna show and look like hell in some cases. (take a zip lock bag, pull it tight and run a nail through it, thats what it will look like.. This happens to our boat all the time, we have a full wrap, and its a FULL job to maintain with special products. Whether its a sky ski foil to the side, accidental bangs, or even just bouy abrasion, the scratches/gauges/cuts can go right down to the gelcoat, or in this case paint. In worst cases, if the wrap cannot be fixed (if not in sections) it has to be completley pulled off. In my case, we have extra wrap and cut it out and make exact color matched patches if need be..Not pulling off a 23x4 ft strip of vynil.. LOL. You can get away with patching on a boat covering it up with 3m transom clear to seal it off again, but i wouldnt second chance it on a car for the glue will never bond correctly again and most likley will peel.(And having all those different patches will look pretty bad). While the wrap scheme may offer "protection" in a sense it really wont, its just gunna cover up what happend to your black from the sanding and just add another layer for all the rocks/mud/debris from your tires to be flung up to and scratch/pit all over again!!!.(just rememember, if you do go silver, those scratches will show the black underneath)..And trust me on this one, I'ts much easier to buff out new/existing paint with scratchX, re wax etc where you cant go wrong.. then make a big mistake trying to fix a wrap in the easiest maintence situations. Done (all by hand) or a buffer if you have experiance) doing it correctly so you dont burn the vynil!

I believe you would be better off just Re painting and doing it correctly, removing those god awful wheel spacers IMO to fix your stance and preventing this problem for next time (Maybe even have some clear professionally installed in the areas that scratch most).... thats my 2. :cheers:
