You're gonna try and do it yourself? I've heard that it's pretty hard for even the professionals to do.

You gotta remember to factor in extra material for mistakes and such. I though it cost in the range of $2,000-3,000.

i would get a paint job in whatever matte paint you want instead of the wrap. They're so susceptible to rips when you do as much as you've shown, and that way you still get the exact color. Matte and satin paint jobs cost less than a full coat because they're exactly that, not the full process of a gloss paint! my 2 cents, good luck!

My uncle does stuff like this and imma help him do it and he's gonna do it for free... The top of the line stuff which is 3m that last 8-10 years... Depend on the size of your car the materials range from 300 to 700... Now if you were to pay somebody to install it , it would cost around 2-3grand due to the labor

With your tires as wide as they are outside the body, a wrap is never gunna last lol ill put 100 bucks on it, its gunna start to peel at the seals as dirt gets in there, and get ugly real quick(same with the scratches) Even with top of the line brands. Im no stranger to wraps on all types of vehicles, and I really dont believe its gunna hold up in this case.. The digital colored FJ... Tires are(seem to be) within the body or barly outside,= minimal debris to be flung up and damage the wrap... In your case all sorts of junk is being thrown around.. Just lookin out for you man, so you dont have to deal with a wrap thats just gunna turn to crap on you, that you have to keep fixing over and over and over.. I really think your better off just re painting, removing those spacers, and using some clear to seal it over. But true on price w/labor, 8-10 year vynil is the rating for the sun/fading not how indestructable it is against scratches/dings/pitting... My 35's stick about an inch outside my body, but the dings and scratches are nothing that cannot be fixed easily. If you do follow through with this, keep us posted with whats happening with the wrap over time.

What makes everyone say wraps tear so easily?

I wheel my truck quite a ton and have had zero tears. It does show some pinstripes, but so far has held up better than paint in that department.

I wouldnt say they "tear" and "easily" in the same sentence... But in kego's case with his tires sticking outside the body so far, he is much more susceptible for damage/peeling and pitting, I can see how you probably dont have much damage, and have had a good run with your wrap because your tires are mostly inside the wheel well wich is going to catch most of the debris thats flung up... Thats why i think if he wraps it he should take off the wheel spacers to prolong the life lol

Vynal wrap!!

I just talked to friend of mine and it would be around $800 for material and $100-$200 for install, but he is a good friend and dont know how much he took off the orice for me. so that should be an estimate on a good deal!

Some of your pics and videos make me glad I don't buy used lifted rigs lol. They look like fun though. In my opinion you really need to do research before you dive right in, otherwise you may be in the same boat your in now with a messed up paint job for not researching enough or inexperience.

Doing the wrap could workout for you, they can be VERY difficult with all the curves, joints and body panel seams. It's obviously not impossible but I'm sure you don't want it to look like crap if its not done right either.

As far as the wheel spacers, different strokes for different folks but that's not going to help the wrap with flinging rocks or anything else up when your having fun. I would remove them but its not my truck. Good luck with the project though!
