Heading south from Bishop on 395, there was a dirt road that connected to Movie Road, which is where my next stop was, Alabama Hills. Thanks to offline maps and GPS, navigating these roads were easy.

After about 3 miles, we finally entered Alabama Hills. No one else in sight, until we drive another 1 mile past the sign.. Guess it's the road less traveled.
Looking for camp, came down into the valley. Wanted more off-road, but got too tired and wanted to set up camp and relax.

Next morning, we packed our things and made our way towards home. Before hitting some asphalt again, we decided to scout a few more trails near by.
Love your build thread! Funny though, I think I actually called on this 4Runner only to find it had sold while I was looking for mine! Glad to see its getting put to good use, and I love those trail teams wheels. I passed on a set a month ago but seeing them on your limited makes me regret it!

I ask since I saw this car on a website, called and asked about the condition and pricing, etc. Never saw it in person, since the drive up to sac was a bit too far for me. 1 month later, they call and ask if I want to actually see the car in person, and then gave me a stupid deal that I just couldn't pass on.
Dude.... You need to at least try camping once in your life. I love the outdoors, so this will be biased, but seriously. A 5 star hotel can never beat a billion star camp site.

Yep, that was it! I think they must have left the ad up for a little while after you bought it. I just remember wanting to jump for it since I hadn't seen many black limiteds like it! I ended up with a silver limited, but man that black sure looks good.
Just finished reading your thread, and wanted to chime in. It's looking great man! You have about the same ideas I'm wanting to obtain as far as a build and to boot we both have 07 Limited and owned about the same time. Too bad we're on opposite coasts.

Wait.. Was that silver limited at a dealer right next to the dealer where the black limited was at? Would be REALLY funny if it was, since I was originally going to pick the silver one up, but the deal on the black limited was to much of a steal I couldn't pass on it.

Ordered my CB radio and it's been sitting here for about a weeks time now. I opted for a Cobra 19 DX IV radio, with a Midland 18 2442 antenna with magnetic mount. I opted for this option since I didn't want to deal with someone jacking a hard mounted antenna, ease of buying items (since there are quite a bit of small pieces that are needed), and if I don't like the mag mount, it'll just spend the extra pennies to get a hard mounted antenna, or upgrade to HAM.
This whole car accident thing has caused so much problems in my social life, as well as my daily life. It post-poned and canceled many things that I had originally planned for over the summer with my SO. The date for school to start was coming close and there was no way I was just going to let my summer be one where I constantly was seeking doctor treatment and just laying in bad. I would feel like I wasted a ton of time. So I forced my SO to let me go camping for 3 days, right before school started so at least I could accomplish one of the things I wanted to do over the summer...
And.. It was definitely worth the trip as it took my mind off alot of things and took me out of a depression. Minus the constant back pain, it was SO WORTH IT. Once again, I visited the Eastern Sierras, but explored some new areas while I was there.
Set my GPS and left my place once the SO and I were free. We started off the trip arriving at Alabama Hills around 11pm. Even with high beams, and a LED light bar, you can't see jack shit. It's kind of scary as you really can't see if you're going the right way and praying your GPS is pinpointing you the right way, but it was very adventurous.

Waking up and getting a little lost was fun.
Found a mine while we got lost. Did some exploring, but without the proper equptment, it was just too much of a risk for both of us to keep exploring.
Also, while exploring, I found this little obstacle. Made nice use of the ATRAC
Reward Mine was the highlight, on the side of interest. Didn't go so deep in since I had no idea where we were going, how far it went, etc.. But next time, I hope to come back with others who know the spot.

Moved on over to the Bishop Area. We went to Coyote Flats. Loved the place. HATED driving down as a Jeep came up, so I had to back up quite a ways up.. That was just absolutely terrifying. My palms were sweating, and once I got back to pavement, I just got out of the car gasping for air.. Here's a video.
Set up our campsite, but since we had plenty of time, I suggested to the SO we get to higher ground and watch the sunset for awhile. It was quite nice.
We headed back down the mountain to prep our meals and get ready for the night. We cut our sunset viewings short.
...but the view was still really nice from where we were.
The morning was the most beautiful morning i've had in awhile. This.. this was the exact reason I came out here. It let me relax a whole lot, and something was born inside me.
On our final day, since Tioga Pass was open, we made the option to go site seeing in Yosemite. Got to play around in the rivers, but little did we know that Glacier point was closed due to the fires.. damn it.. Oh well... there's always next time..
Recently hit Signal Peak with some T4R members. What a new experience. It was an awesome experience, albeit terrifying at times. It was really nice to see some faces from the forums and especially see their rigs. It made me go home and look up some parts. hehe

The most difficult obstacle on the trail, I got stuck on very badly. The combination of loose dirt and little experience with something this extreme got me to where I was, and I was terrified. My rig was right on the edge of the mountain. Luckily, a jeep winched me out and I was safe..

Didn't know people were so shady to steal a rear window shield wiper... I noticed this past sunday when I went shopping and came back to put stuff in the trunk... I ordered a TRICO blade and got around to install it. It was $12 shipped. Fit perfectly. At least on the bright side... I have a new wiper blade...
Went wheeling this past weekend with one of my buddies i've known for quite some time now. He recently picked up the Jeep and has been bugging me to go wheeling with him. So, we finally got around to going to Prairie City and hit up a local dirt road. He was impressed at what his Jeep could do. And now he hates me for having the mod bug hit him. All in all, a great day.
Got to meet up with another Local T4R member and we went wheeling in the Sierras. Was so glad I did. It was quite interesting to see the damage the winter has done with all the downed logs. At one point, we had to turn around..
Got around to rotate my tires, swap out a wheel bearing and bleed the brakes this thanksgiving weekend.
For those interested, I got a Dorman 950001 Wheel bearing + hub assembly for $102 shipped. Here are images of the OEM and Dorman unit. They look identical. Bearing is no name. And the wheel bearing carrier is shaved down near the bolts and inner lip seal. I wonder why.
Went to Frank Raines OHV with one of my good friends last weekend. Lots of fun... Although, I ended up scratching up my rear door panel on a boulder that I slid down into, and my idle pulley bearing has gone out from water fording. Oh well. Gotta pay to play. :rofl:
And had to pull my buddy out when he bottomed out...
Alright, so after doing a lot of research and doing the mod on my own, i'd like to consolidate the information into this single post. I own and modified the cluster and HVAC on my 2007 v6 Limited. The SR5's seem different.
For the limited, there are a total of 27 leds required to do the swap. Took about 30minutes to do the whole thing...
Per Meter...
7x Rev meter leds
10x Speed meter leds
3x Odometer Screen backlight leds
3x Fuel gauge leds
2x Temp guage leds (There's an extra led spot, that does get power, but you won't see the light because it'll be covered...)
2x Gear shifter indicator backlight leds
For the HVAC...
The knobs themselves are running at ~12volts to the bulbs.
