Matt's build thread

Well time for an update. I finally finished my grill mod. Added some Toyota lettering and raptor style LED's. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

Well added a few things so I guess its time for an update.

Added a TRD air intake.

bent up some brackets for my 20 inch light bar. Which I mounted behind my lower bumper mesh.Just letting them dry after painting.

Then I added some shock shim's and boots.

I purchased some lower link skids from TC. In order for them to fit with Icon lower trailing arms, you need to cut out part of the bottom.

Here are some pictures from the last 4x4 trip. FJ's always seem to be lurking behind.

Photo update.

Went with the Gobi stealth rack. This forum was a big help with the install and running the wires for the lights.

Added some lights. I went with the 40 inch curved from Ridged. If you end up getting this and have the Gobi rack you will need to get different cradles. The curved cradles have 2 mounting points. It is insanely bright, its like its daytime with the push of a button.

Thanks guys!

Well the addiction continues added a few more items. RCI full skids, BudBuilt rear diff skid. Now just waiting for my front and rear bumpers to come in from HeftyFab.

Have everything ready for install.

Could I get some info on the raptor lights? What LED's did you use? how'd you wire them? etc

These are the LED's I used. BPF Grill LEDS SKU #116 ? Bullet Proof Fabricating
They work as a nut and bolt, you just need to drill a hole. I taped in to my ignition fuse using a fuse tap.

I've added a few more mods so here is an update. First was the ARB twin compressor, very happy with this thing. Love that it shuts it self off when its not being used.

After adding all the LED lights and fuse box, I got a little nervous thinking about fires. Even though I think I did my due diligence making sure everything was done right but can never be too safe. So I added a fire extinguisher in where the spare tire tools are and moved the tools to the wheel well.

After a bit of a wait, I finally received my HeftyFab Work's bumper. Still waiting on the steal rear. I really love how light this thing is, but after bolting the winch to it, it's still a bit much to handle by yourself. I was to impatient to wait for a second set of hands. I did the best I could but I will have to re-aline it again.

Just after stretching out the winch line.

I purchased the exp-one washer bottle but I wasn't able to make it work with the compressor. So this will be up for sale along with the MORIMOTO XB LED FOGS.

I ended up sourcing a washer bottle that would fit without relocating the air pump. It's a lot smaller then the factory one but will work for my needs.

Couple shots from the last wheeling trip.

duuuuude Matt123 awesome 4R build ya got here. looking forward to seeing the rear bumper installed too.

what did you put in your DRL/High beam? thinking of popping some sylvania zxe bulbs in there to whiten things up a bit.

That front bumper looks great, nice build. I was going to ask about the light output from your bar that was behind the satoshi grill, but a few changes have happened.

I have these Search results for: '900521SMD5730LED' They work great for DTRL's. Not so great for a High beam, but with the light bars I never use my High beams anymore.

Thank you, the light out put wasn't bad at all. Didn't notice to much of a difference from it being behind the mesh.
