Max lift on stock tire size.

Hey all, I'm itching to put a small lift on my 4runner.

I'm looking into Bilstein 5100 in front and rear. I plan on setting the fronts at 1.75 and adding a 1.5 inch T13 Wheelers spring in the rear. Do you think this would look goofy on 265/70/17 BFG K02s?

I've searched and couldn't find pictures of this exact set up, so post up if you have them.

Please forgive my noobness. Is it recommend to change the UCAs for such a mild lift?

It won't look "Goofy" as there are several good locking rigs that have run stock tire size with a 2-2.5"/1.5-2" lift ( [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] before his big boy tires, [MENTION=91899]Jhalko[/MENTION] and [MENTION=105481]3wbdriver[/MENTION] come to mind), but beauty is all in they eye of the beholder. You could look through the lifted pics thread for a Bilstein 1.75/1.5" Daystar spacer lift and it would essentially look the same. If you leave the front end 2" or under you SHOULD be fine with stock UCA's and a decent alignment tech to get you back in spec.

Currently doing a similar setup. Just ordered the bilsteins a couple hrs ago! Front 6112 will be set at 1.75" and rear 5100 with a SAW 1.5" spring. 275 /70/17 BFG KO2s to follow. Maybe put a 1/4" cornfed rear spacer on driver side to fix lean. After that, if it's not where I want it I'll go to 2.5" or spacers to front. Spoke with a rep earlier from total automotive performance that said aftermarket UACs are not needed. Let me know if you hear anything different though lol

From what I've been reading 2883's yield max 2" but a few have measured at around 1.75" so will be similar to 5100's and the 1.75" setting. I've been researching lift options for 2 months now not wanting to rush into it and have read many many many threads that have included pics to get an idea of what I wanted. I don't think it would look goofy. I've got 255/75/17 (about 0.45" bigger than stock) with my winters being 265/65/17 and am looking at the Eibach Pro Truck series shocks now with a similar lift to what your are thinking with the exception of maybe getting the 1.6" Toytec/Eibach coils or Dobinsons up front instead of setting to 1.7". I'm at the end of my exhaustive research and have decided that for me any lift under 2" for the 5th gen looks fine with stock size tires provided that they are at least an AT tire.

I'm running 2.5 in the front and 2 inches in the rear. I know it's not the exact setup you're looking for but, for reference. Ill be going for 285 or 255 skinnies in the future though.

I'm trying to figure this out now. I've got a 3" Dobinson's kit sitting in my garage, putting it on later this summer. Now I'm trying to decide what to do about tires. I know I need to get a more aggressive AT tread, but I'm debating on sizing up to 285, sticking with 265, or going down to 255 with a bigger ratio. I'm going to start a build thread once I do my install with plenty of before and after pictures, so that should give an idea of what a 3" lift with stock tires will look like. My guess: it will look very goofy. But I hope not too goofy until I get tires!

The more aggressive your tire looks, the less silly it looks on a lifted vehicle. That being said, anywhere between 1~3" of lift should be fairly okay looking for even stock tires if they're even slightly aggressive looking.

I think it would mostly work with 265s, but you'd notice a lot of wheel well in the rear. IMO 275s look perfect with the lift you're considering.

What's the ride quality like ?

From what I can remember over stock, more controlled. Less sway on the highway. Fronts are stiffer and more bumps can be felt vs the rear but the front's are maxed out. You may get a softer ride since you want less than that.

The rear suspension is like a pillow. The 5100s work great with the ToyTec spring.
