May be forced to sell... Dollar value?

I will start by saying that I absolutely love my 4Runner! I find myself in a situation were I need to sell either my Subaru Outback or my 4Runner for financial reasons. I have had the Outback for sale for a while and haven't had any luck, if I don't sell it soon I will be forced to put my 4Runner up for sale.

So what would you guys feel it is worth, here are my details:
1998 Limited 4x4 automatic with 166,xxx miles on it. It has the trans cooler bypass done and just did rear axle seals, 3rd member bearings and of course rear brakes. Decent tread on the BF Goodrich T/A tires, interior isn't bad, pretty decent, I do have the center caps for the Taco wheels, I do not have the original wheels.

Anybody in the southern Ohio area have recent experience with this? I live in a small town that probably only has 4 or 5 other 3rd gen 4Runners in it, I will most likely have to advertise elsewhere to sell it. The Subaru is the same way, nobody around here drives anything but a domestic or maybe a Honda it seems.

Get a complete interior/exterior detail done and take a bunch of pictures, upload them online to photobucket, picassa or something similar....Post an ad in every major Craiglist city within a 100 miles of you....See if that may help. Good luck!!

It looks pretty clean, and the mileage is good. As a starting point I'd ask $6,250.

I'm a couple hundred miles south of ya! I have seen them go anywhere from 2500.00 to close to 5500.00! I would start around 5800 and work from there!

here in Atlanta GA, for that year and condition with the mileage, I'd normally see that for around 6-7k.

5k would be gone the next day.

This is true.

I bought a 1997 with 160,000 miles on it and it's a 5 speed 4X4 and I gladly paid $6500 for it.

They're so expensive in some areas.

I'd put it on Atlanta's craig list and sell it there. My buddy owns a car transport business and you could get it sent here for not to much.

I bought my '98 a couple months back for $4,100 - immaculate and all service done by the dealer. It has no e-locker or leather but I didn't care about those things.
Expect to get around that price for your Runner. It seems like a lot of guys over value their trucks, but you have to be realistic and look at the market value for your vehicle.
