I just saw this video. I'd love to build a truck to this level some day, that thing looks like it just works.

Yup. Simple and it works! The 3rz is sweet too.

" I could replace all that stuff, but its a rock crawler, so im not gonna do it." Hahaha.

With gearing that low, I wonder if you could put a hand throttle on it like you would find on a tractor. I've never been near a rock crawler, so this is purely speculation.

It's been done. I think Footofgod has one, or had one anyway. With gears like Clampy's you don't really need it though - I'm thinking that truck doesn't stall, so you can ignore the clutch for the most part and just worry about modulating throttle and brake.

My 86 has similar gearing and I have never been able to stall it in low gear. I have put my kids in the driver seat and told them not to hit a tree and have fun.

a buddy had a 92 with dual cases(I think one had 4.1 gears also), manual transmission, and 5.29 gears on 33's.

you could start it IN gear, with the clutch out, and the engine would start completely before the truck ever moved. it was ridiculous.
also, if you let the clutch out at idle, and held the brake, it would just spin the rear tires. :D

honestly, to that video, my truck is just about like that. just point and go. its a ***** when it does get stuck tho.
